At H&W you will find long trucks as long semi-trailers, semi-trailers with central axle, with dolly, with B-double or as articulated trucks for an overall length of 17.88 m up to 25.25 m!
Benefit from the efficiency advantage that long trucks from H&W bring you. You transport more cargo per trip. You make better use of the capacity of your tractor units and superstructures. You pollute the environment less. Infrastructure and road traffic are relieved. Compared to classic semi-trailer combinations, our long truck combinations can in some cases double the transport volume. This not only saves a second driver, a second tractor unit and thus hard costs, but also reduces CO2 emissions. This is the case, for example, with our vehicle combination for IBC and barrel transport. Articulated trucks with dolly or B-Double are more manoeuvrable than vehicles consisting of a tractor unit and a long semi-trailer – at the same time offering an optimised loading area. This is approx. 2 m longer than with a normal semi-trailer truck. Volume and payload are increased – in short, the efficiency of your transports increases. On every journey!

Your customised long truck from H&W Nutzfahrzeuge has many advantages on board:
- Lower personnel costs through fewer trips: Truck driver shortage is a big issue. Transporting more freight with fewer trips is one possible answer.
- Less CO2 emissions and fuel consumption through fewer journeys: Here you save in real terms and it benefits the environment.
- A Euro truck train can load up to 39 Euro pallets of freight. That is 5 Euro pallets more than a Euro semitrailer tractor with a 13.60 m long loading area.
- More capacity per trip: more loading volume, more loading area. The cost saving can be up to 30%.
The limits are set by the legislator: 40 tonnes and 25 metres. Mega-liners, gigaliners or long trucks have been permitted on German roads since 2017. They are supposed to transport goods more efficiently and more fuel-efficiently than normal trucks. Important to know: The weight limit of 40 t total weight for trucks on German roads also applies to the long trucks and articulated trucks. However, as far as your scope for design within this legal framework when putting together your long truck is concerned, there are no limits for you at H&W!
